Important Messages: Christmas Concert & Carol Concert (St Marks Church) 7.00pm - 20 December
Meet the Governors

The school governors are all volunteers over the age of 18. The governors play a key role in decision making around the school such as running buildings, budgets, supporting staff and setting the standards for discipline and uniforms.

The governors are also there to support the headteacher in their role. They do also ask questions to the headteacher to ensure that they are taking the school in the right direction.

Parent Governors
Mr Andrew Meredith ~ Chair of Governors
Andrew Meredith

I am a parent governor and work in a large retail company. In ancient times I was a nurse in accident and emergency. I have seen great change in the school over the last two years with radical improvement and profressionalism driven often by data but mostly by the amazing determination of the staff and pupils to achieve success. I am passionate about the innovation and excellence that will be achieved over the next few years working and supporting the school's leadership team.

I chair the teaching, quality and achievement committe and we look at how the pupils are progressing and any differences across subjects. The key work is to support the teaching staff by supporting the interventions that are in place to drive continuous improvement. I have taken an interest in English and it has been a real pleasure to work with such a fantastic dedicated team of teachers and a special plus for me is to see the brilliant students at Hollyfield achieved and develop.

My main interest is to bring my business evaluation skills to the school and help further develop our teaching quality mechanisms so we continue to grow in confidence and sustain recent successes in GSCE resuts.

I have been a Parent Governor at Hollyfield since July 2018. I have two children at the school, and have lived in the area since 2014. I am a passionate supporter of what Hollyfield is trying to do – ensure that every child is supported every day to learn and grow, as well as be happy and fulfilled. During my career I have worked in communications, lobbying and corporate responsibility. My current role involves going into schools to deliver sessions on financial literacy, careers and ‘soft skills’. I am also a director of ‘We Rise’, a social enterprise that provides students in the Brixton area with meaningful work experience and careers advice.
