The Phoenix Provision is dedicated to supporting students through a nurturing, inclusive, and speech-and- language-focused approach. We work closely with teachers and parents to ensure every student has the tools they need to achieve success and independence.

We understand that mornings can be challenging. We offer a "Soft Start" for students who find the transition into school difficult, particularly those sensitive to noise or overwhelmed by the busy environment of a standard form room. This provides a calm, regulated beginning to the school day.

2. Inclusion (90%) in mainstream lessons

   We believe in the power of mainstream education. Our students benefit from 90% inclusion, attending mainstream lessons alongside their peers. To ensure they thrive, we provide in-class support for:

   • Core Subjects: English, Maths, and Science.
   • Literacy-Heavy Subjects: History, Geography, and others tailored to the specific needs of the student.

3. Specialist Interventions

   Our provision delivers evidence-based interventions designed to support the "whole child," including:

   • Psycho-education: Helping students understand their own learning needs.
   • Social Skills & Social Thinking: Navigating the complexities of social interaction.
   • Pre and post teaching: to enable access to classwork
   • Autism & Girls: Specialized support tailored to the unique presentation of Autism in female students.
   • Speech and Language: We host a Speech and Language Therapist once a week. Because we believe every interaction is an intervention, our entire staff uses a speech and language-led approach to foster independent learning.

4. Emotional Regulation & Sensory Support

   Regulation is key to academic success. We provide:

   • A Sensory Room: A safe space where students can go with a trusted adult to "vent" or process suppressed emotions, allowing them to reset and continue their day.
   • Safe Spaces: A quiet, structured environment during break and lunch times for those who find unstructured time or loud outdoor spaces overwhelming.

5. Social Connection & Confidence

   To help students build social confidence in a low-pressure setting, we offer:

   • Small Group Communication: Enabling students to practice socialising in a quiet, controlled space.
   • Film Clubs: Providing a safe, structured environment for students to enjoy cinema and shared interests.
   • Lego club
   • Gardening Club
   • Card Club
