Hollyfield’s Record Breaking GCSE and BTEC Results 2026

The Hollyfield School is proud to report another exceptional set of GCSE and BTEC results. Our students and staff worked incredibly hard and deserve to feel proud of their success. 80% of our students achieved five GCSEs at grade 4 or better, including English and Maths, while 65% achieved five GCSEs at grade 5 or better, including English and Maths. 33% of the grades achieved were 7-9, with 18% 8s and 9s.

There were some fabulous successes in a range of subject areas:

In Physics, 22% of students achieved 9s
In Chemistry, Biology and Computing, 15% of more students were awarded 9s
In Maths, 12% of students achieved 9s and 24% received 8s or higher
In History, 25% of students achieved 8 or above
In Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Music, 40% of students were awarded 8s or higher
In Spanish, Photography, Maths, French, History, PE, Art, Computing, Physics, Music, Biology and Chemistry, 50% or more of students achieved 6s or better

Our BTEC results were incredibly impressive:

BTEC Media had a 95.5% pass rate, with 36% of students achieving D* and D2
29% of Health & Social Care students were awarded D* and D2
12.5% of BTEC Sports students 12.5% achieved D* and D2

There were also some incredible results for individual students. Gabriel Spiers-Deere achieved the highest combined total, with ten grades at 9 or 8, while Eren Demir and Abdullah Sanjarbek Ahmad tied for the most grade 9s, with eight grade 9s each. Abdallah was ‘very satisfied’ with his results, while Eren was ‘pleasantly surprised’. They both spoke about the power of past papers to guarantee success, as did Matthew Clarke, whose results included four grade 8s and four 9s. Dylan Simkins, who achieved four grade 8s and four 9s in his impressive array of results was feeling great today and said, ‘This was exactly what I wanted!’ Dylan really enjoyed the spirit of togetherness in Year 11 as well as what he described as ‘the crunch period’ of exams, which ‘really felt like an event’. Emma Fukutome’s results included 5 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s. She said that she felt that a ‘massive weight had been lifted’ and urged next year’s Y11 to find what works for them. Both Zaki Kheir and Jerome Albrecht, who are staying at Hollyfield to study A Levels, were rightfully delighted with their results. Jerome achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s, while Zaki took home a whopping six grade 9s and a grade 8 amongst his results.

Head of Year, Cam Esmond said: ‘I am extremely proud of the hard work of our students and their grades reflect the dedication they have shown throughout their time at Hollyfield. I look forward to welcoming those who choose to continue their studies with us and wish the best of luck to those who are moving to pastures new.’
