GOVERNOR (FINANCE/ACCOUNTANCY) ROLE

Working Pattern: 2-3 hours per month (plus attendance at ad hoc trust/school events if required); four-year term
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are seeking an additional governor with a finance or accountancy background to join our friendly and supportive governing body, who can help shape the school's future by building upon the recent successes at Hollyfield - from supporting the school to become mobile free to obtaining spectacular GCSE and BTEC results within an increasingly inclusive environment.
The Role
As a school governor, you'll play a vital role in:
- strategic decision-making
- helping the school build in recent successes, including the recent Ofsted inspection
- ensuring every child thrives while receiving the best possible education and opportunities.
The successful candidate will sit on our Leadership, Management and Resources (LMR) committee and help with budget planning and financial oversight of the school, at what is an exciting time in the development of the school.
You will be required to:
- attend two meetings per half term (one online and one in-person) with advance notice of meeting dates
- read school papers ahead of the meetings
- participate in sub-committee meetings relevant to your skills and interests
- attend school visits and events
- have opportunities to be involved in recruitment panels/Ofsted meetings.
The Candidate
A finance background is highly desirable and a commitment to making a positive impact in your local community is essential.
No prior school governance experience is necessary as full training and support will be provided!
You must be passionate about education and have a desire to help the school community thrive.
