Assessment

Autumn Term

  • Assessment 1: extended writing: ‘How and why did Henry VIII change the church in England?’
  • Assessment 2: historical interpretations: ‘Which was the most serious threat to Elizabeth I: The Armada or Mary Queen of Scots?’

Spring Term

  • Assessment 3: extended writing/historical causation: ‘Why did World War II break out in 1939?’
  • Assessment 4: source evaluation/interpretation: ‘Which sources are most useful in investigating whether the USA was right to drop the Atomic Bomb?’

Summer Term

  • Assessment 5: historical interpretations: ‘Who was the most important to US Civil Rights: Martin Luther King or Malcolm X?’
  • Assessment 6: End of Year Nine exam
Special Requirements/Equipment

There is no specific equipment other than that set out in the student planner. However we have found that a set of four different coloured highlighters is extremely useful.

Home Learning

This will be set weekly by the teacher and consolidate and deepen the knowledge and skills developed in lessons. Details of this will be set by the teacher on Show my Home Learning.
