Assessment

All coursework will be assessed during the course using Edexcel mark schemes.

Students keep a logbook of composition work and receive detailed feedback and feed-forward.

Students keep a Progress Tracker sheet at the front of their folders.

Students are given many opportunities to perform performance work in front of the class and guidance about choosing the correct pieces. They will be assessed using Edexcel mark schemes.

Students regularly complete Edexcel past papers and practice papers.

Students are given an ‘examiner’s report’ on mock exams with areas for development.
Special Requirements/Equipment

Students are expected to keep theirs folders in order throughout the year with the index provided for them.

Students have to regularly practice their own instrument at home in preparation for performance coursework (30%).

Students will be set HL once a week.
