Sixth Form Update

Posted by: Francesca Chester on 05-12-2018

It has been a busy few weeks in the Sixth Form. The football team beat Grey Court 5-0 in an away game, with man of the match being awarded to Tom Georgiou who scored two of the five goals! A second victory for the Hollyfield Sixth Formers took place in the form of winning the English Speaking Union debating competition. The prestigious competition was held at Surbiton High Assembly Rooms and our elite team beat Coombe Girls debating whether or not we should ban the consumption of all meat. The students were articulate and passionate, sealing the victory!

On Friday 7 December, the Year 12 students are off to Paris on the Philosophy and Humanities trip. The students will be visiting the Catacombs, the Musee D'Orsday, Eiffel Tower and the Seine. We hope all students have a fantastic time - pictures to come next week!

Next week, the Year 13 students are taking their mock exams and students are working hard towards these. We wish all students the best of luck for these exams.

Our shoe box appeal is under way and students are busy wrapping and filling boxes for the women who will be spending Christmas in a shelter. We are asking for all students to volunteer and wrap at least one box each to give back to the community over the festive period. We are still collecting items and donations of wrapping paper! The boxes are being collected next week.
